Changing the way you think to fulfil your potential
Dr Carol S. Dweck
This is such an important book. If you are human and interesting in learning and evolving as a person you need to read this book. Dweck is a Stanford University psychologist and leading researcher in the field of social psychology and developmental psychology.
She explains in the book that success is not achieved by our abilities and talent but by our mindset. Do you have a fix mindset or a growth mindset? Apparently we can have a combination of the two and may experience a different result depending on what mindset we approach our circumstances with. I love this book. Obviously as a teacher having an awareness of how to tap into my growth mindset and foster that in my students is very important to me but having this knowledge about how our brains work is relevant for everyone in every field if you want to grow and learn.
